The Boston Celtics have advanced to the NBA Finals for the first time in 12 years after defeating the Miami Heat in a grueling seven-game series. The Celtics clinched the series with a 111-101 victory in Game 7 on Sunday, April 24, 2024.

The game was close throughout, with the Heat leading by as many as 13 points in the second half. However, the Celtics rallied back to tie the game with just over a minute remaining. With the score tied at 103-103, Derrick White grabbed an offensive rebound and tipped it in with just 0.5 seconds left on the clock, giving the Celtics the dramatic win.

Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 26 points, while Jaylen Brown added 24 points and Al Horford contributed 20 points and 14 rebounds. Jimmy Butler led the Heat with 28 points, followed by Bam Adebayo with 21 points and Gabe Vincent with 17 points.

The Celtics will now face the Western Conference champion Denver Nuggets in the NBA Finals, which begin on June 1, 2024.

In other playoff news, the Golden State Warriors defeated the Dallas Mavericks in four games to advance to the Western Conference finals. The Nuggets defeated the Memphis Grizzlies in six games to reach the conference finals.
